The Colt 1860 Army revolver was the last full-size revolver to enter
production before Samuel Colt’s death. It is a fitting tribute to
the genius of the inventor of the world’s first commercially
successful revolver that his last military design, whose reputation
for reliability soon became legendary, was also the most successful
and widely used revolver of the American Civil War. Over 200,000
1860 Army revolvers were produced between 1860 and 1873, making it
one of the most successful cap n’ ball revolvers of all time.
Now, thanks to the efforts of
Pietta’s European craftsmen, “Sam Colt’s Equalizer” has been
recreated for collectors, re-enactors, and black powder enthusiasts.
Crafted using the latest in high-tech machining before being
assembled, fitted, and finished by hand, each 1860 Army revolver is
the result of new world technology and old world craftsmanship
combined.
